Covid-19 Update
As of today, we are no longer seeing people for face to face physiotherapy or psychology consultations.
However, we are already doing lots of physiotherapy consultations via secure online video links and many of our patients are giving great feedback saying how much they are valuing this contact as well as the reassurance and guidance it still provides during their recovery journey.
To do this, call as you normally would requesting a video consultation and leaving your preferred media platform i.e. Skype, WhatsApp etc on 01392 982198 or simply email nick@thegoodphysio.co.uk
It is more important than ever that you stay in touch and ask any questions that you may have especially for those who are going to struggle with being isolated and feeling alone and vulnerable. Please get in touch even if you just want to talk.
Keep regular daily routines including evening and bed time routines. This is not easy when working from home and possibly having children to care for at the same time. Put a timetable together as a start point for some structure.
Sleep well. If we extrapolate evidence from studies looking at other viruses, it may well be that getting good quality sleep is one of the easiest ways to boost your immune system. Researchers looking at subjects after things like the seasonal flu jab, saw a big difference in the amount of antibodies that were produced in the subjects who slept more than 7-8 hours a night compared with those who were deliberately sleep deprived or had altered sleep patterns. This might be especially true in the early stages of exposure to viruses. It is quite possible that this is also the case with coronavirus.
Exercise regularly. You can go out with family household members once a day for a walk, run or cycle. Otherwise it should be just as individuals and always ensure that you go somewhere that you are able to stay away from other people (at least 2m).
When you are out avoid touching anything. Assume that anything you do touch may be contaminated and so immediately wash your hands and avoid touching your face (mouth, eyes and nose are a portal for viruses to enter your body)
Please keep yourselves safe, look after and be considerate of each other and stay in contact with people.
